AODA Integrated Accessibility Standards Regulation

$3,600.00

In 2005, the Ontario Government took a step toward building a more accessible province when it passed the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) calling for the development of standards for accessibility in five key areas of daily living: Customer Service, Information and Communications, Employment, Transportation and Built Environment.

As of January 1st 2014, private employers with 50 or more employees are legally obligated to meet the general requirements of the Integrated Accessibility Standards Regulation (IASR). In order to meet the requirements, organizations will have to develop a multi-year plan, create a statement of organizational commitment and implement policies that will support the future initiatives for compliance with the IASR. In order to provide the necessary documentation, organizations will need to assess their accessibility with regards to information, communications and employment as well as physical barriers and training needs.
PIVOTAL will gather the required information through discussions with Management and an organizational assessment questionnaire. Once we have gathered all of the information, we will meet with you, in-person or via conference, to discuss which initiatives your organization will prioritize and timelines that you can commit to. Note that your HR Project Lead will provide best practice recommendations but decisions regarding which initiatives to pursue and when will be made by the organization.

PIVOTAL will complete all documentation to ensure compliance with the general requirements of the Integrated Accessibility Standard which includes:

• AODA Needs Assessment
• Multi Year Plan
• Statement of Organizational Commitment
• Policy Update Recommendations and Training Recommendations
• Training Tracking Spreadsheet
